Kink.com Launches Reality-Based BDSM Website

SAN FRANCISCO - After nine months of production, Kink.com has launched its newest website, TheTrainingOfO, at which submissive females will be given the opportunity to "demonstrate their resolve on 'The Training of O' BDSM program by enduring a weeklong initiation of grueling tasks. Each applicant's curriculum is customized to exploit her individual strengths, weaknesses, and darkest fears. The hardcore sex and highly personal BDSM experiences will combine with reality-style videography to yield what Kink describes as genuine, candid, uncensored reactions that will challenge peoples' awareness of where fantasy ends and reality begins. The final product will be a Web-based miniseries with four updates that will track each model through her arduous training program.James Mogul, director of MenInPain, will direct for TheTrainingOfO, and his inspirations for the concept of the site come from his own personal experiences and the classic French BDSM novel The Story of O by Pauline Réage. In describing his vision, James said, "TheTrainingOfO is an idea that has been brewing in my head for several years, and when I came on board with Kink.com, I knew that this company could take that fantasy construct and turn it into a reality. Many drafts, refinements, late nights, and 20 shoots later, we are ready to launch. The site seems to have piqued the curiosity of both jaded industry insiders and consumers alike, and I am curious myself how the content will be received."TheTrainingOfO provides models with a deeper bondage experience far beyond the reach of other sites, according to a press release from Kink. "The women take their experiences quite seriously, and their transformation over the course of the week is as astonishing as it is important to them," the statement continued. "By transcending the intense BDSM experience, Mogul was forced to figure out how to make the material accessible to both the novice and practiced viewers alike.""One of the biggest challenges is translating the concept of dominance and submission, a largely internal process, to the screen in a way that is both interesting and hot," Mogul explained. "The resulting content is a bit on the cerebral side but packed with iconic imagery and emotionally charged moments."With the exception of the first shoot, TheTrainingOfO is the only Kink.com site to be shot entirely at the company's innovative production facility, the San Francisco Armory. The armory is the perfect setting for TheTrainingOfO due to its genuine grittiness and labyrinth-like qualities, the company stated."The spaces are beautiful. The decay is beautiful. It's like walking onto a movie set all made for you," Mogul said. "It's a big part of the story — bringing someone down into the basement of the armory to face their fears."TheTrainingOfO is Kink.com's 12th premium website and the third new site they've released in 2007.
