SAN FRANCISCO—For those who have been to the Kink parties offered as part of the Cybernet Expo trade shows, the tour of the San Francisco Armory is an eye-opening experience. Constructed from 1912 to 1914, the historic Mission District building, with its sweeping staircases, wide corridors and multitudinous rooms, is something to behold; as a production facility featuring assorted (and sordid) themed sets and more fetish props than could satisfy the Marquis de Sade, the Armory transforms into bacchanalian wonderland.
Now, instead of being reserved for members of the industry, Kink.com parent Cybernet Entertainment LLC is conducting hour-long tours for the public that include all five floors of the landmark structure, which Kink acquired in 2007.
According to BlockShopper.com, “Tours can be booked for groups of 10 or more and can cater to special events such as bachelor or bachelorette parties, birthday parties, club outings, teambuilding, and more. Group tours are discounted up to 50 percent depending on the size of the group.”
“We started offering Armory tours as a result of the constant stream of people coming to the front door asking, ‘what do you do in there,’” Kink.com founder Peter Acworth told AVN.com. “We have always believed in transparency and having an open-door policy, so we are very pleased to invite the public to see our operation, as well as how we have revived this historic landmark building. We think and hope that visitors will help demystify BDSM and the production of adult entertainment.”
The San Francisco Armory is located at 1800 Mission St., San Francisco, CA 94103. More information on the tours can be found here or by calling (415) 529-5272.
