LOS ANGELES/BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The irrepressible punk rock porn princess and founder of BurningAngel.com Joanna Angel is the face of June’s Prick Magazine, which is not about male appendages but all things tattoo.
The feature interview by Sean Dettman delves into the history of Burning Angel as well as the mind and manners of the website’s iconic founder, who minces no words when asked whether now is a good time to be a female pornographer.
“Due to the state of the economy it's not really the best time to be a male or a female pornographer,” said Angel, an addict to the truth. “However, if you are a chick with a dirty mind and you're dying to let the world know about all your sexual fantasies... then film them and put them online! I mean, what the hell is stopping you? Women who feel like the world is stopping them from doing what they want just because they are women are just perpetuating the problem.”
There’s a lot more good stuff, including a concluding interview with Kylee Kross, an early member of Burning Angel who just moved to London and is a bike-riding freak. She also stars in Burning Angel’s latest flick, Bartenders.
“Prick Magazine was such a hoot to work with and I love that they’ve made me an honorary prick for their June cover,” said Angel.
