Internext Begins With MojoHost Party, Successful Show Floor

LAS VEGAS—There’s nothing like a little free alcohol and the chance to mingle with colleagues to get an Internext show rolling.

MojoHost’s Brad Mitchell let everyone start off on the right foot Sunday evening, by sponsoring the official Internext Warm-Up Party, complete with food, drinks and a lot of friends. The event was attended by several hundred people, many of whom said they were looking forward to the show and the chance to get some serious business done.

“I have more meetings scheduled for this show than I have for a long time,” said Sharky from Pimp Mansion, sponsors of the cocktail hours Monday and Tuesday in the Circle Bar at the Palms Casino and Resort. “We are really looking to make some good connections and meet with a lot of people.”

The party created the perfect buzz for Internext, which opened Monday with seminars in the morning and the show floor in the Rain nightclub all afternoon. Several companies—including PussyCash/ImLive.com, NetBilling, DatingGold, ASACP, Robo-Mail, AVN Rewards, Orbital Pay, BigClicks and Red Light Center—were set up in booths on all three levels of the club, meeting with clients and talking with new businesses.

“It’s a really good setup, because we have the space to talk with the people we have meetings with, but we also have a lot of people walking by who might want to talk to us about what we offer and what we can do for them,” said AK, vice president of sales and marketing for DatingGold. “It’s a really good show for us.”

And while Internext is a little more low-key than in past years, many attendees said that suited them just fine.

“I think we have weeded out a lot of the ‘looky-loos,’ and people are here to do serious business now,” said Brad Mitchell.

Vegas Ken of The Best Porn agreed, noting that while the many parties in past years were fun, this year has fewer distractions.

“It’s a really good vibe, and everyone is really geared up for this show,” he said. “Everything in this business in changing, from business models, to how we deal with one another, to how the shows are set up, but this gives us a chance to figure out together how we need to change and adapt.”
