LOS ANGELES — The CW TV show "Gossip Girl" is rife with lurid schemes, nasty manipulation, double-crosses and very mean, well-heeled young folk. And now one of the program's stars, Leighton Meester, is caught in a scandal-laden situation seemingly lifted right out of the show. A sex tape featuring the actress is already being sold online.
According to TMZ the video dates back few years and features Meester and a boyfriend engaged in a sex romp. The footage is said to include some nude scenes and activity that one might find in a niche adult site. As TMZ reports, there's a moment "involving her very talented feet."
A deal was reportedly in the works and adult industry promoter Kevin Blatt had told TMZ, "We've seen the tape and we're hoping to close the deal."
Now, the website Celeb-Hotline.com appears to be offering the tape for download. The paysite features some stills and footage, which include Meester topless and a shot of her rump. The tabloid-style home page, with a "headline" of "Gossip Girl Gets Wild," says, "See sweet and sexy Leighton giving a footjob, her amazing ass, her perfect breasts with perky pink nipples and much more!"
So far neither Meester nor her representatives have commented on the tape. A source told AVN.com she has not signed off on release of the tape, which is why it's only online at Celeb-Hotline. The site is believed to be hosted offshore to circumvent laws associated with distributing hardcore content. This is similar to the case of a Gene Simmons sex tape that popped up online last year.
UPDATE:
Speaking with AVN.com Friday afternoon, Blatt said he was not shopping or brokering the tape — he was only hired to publicize its existence.
"The company handling it told me they had the rights and were waiting on the paperwork and it's all in order," Blatt said. "I don't know. I just handle the job of publicity, getting people to know about the tape. I co-own 2257Safe.com with an attorney, Michael Fattarosi, so I know the law pretty good and would never run the risk of violating it."
Blatt confirmed the tape's contents, from the ass-shaking to the footjob.
"I saw the tape with my own eyes about a week and half ago — the tape's legitimate," he told AVN.com. "But I don't know if they [the website] have the tape or not because I'm not about to whip out my credit card to find out. It could just be screen grabs, a dead end."
Blatt claimed Meester's attorneys are the high-powered celebrity-handling firm of Lavely and Singer and said they may contend she was only 17 years old when the tape was made, which would certainly squash its release — and anyone seeking to release it would face a legal crush beyond a lawsuit.
But according to Blatt, the TV star was 18 years and three months at the time.
"There's a time stamp from the cell phone, and in the video she holds up DVD of a movie she liked — and if you look at release date of that movie and match it to the birth date, you'll see that she was completely, 100 percent 18 years of age."
The law firm could not be reached for comment.
According to IMDB Meester turned 26 in April. She's set to release an album of dance music soon and will also appear in the upcoming films The Roommate and Date Night.
