LAS VEGAS - Processing service GXBill has expanded its range of billing alternatives for consumers by rolling out European direct debit.
The new payment option allows consumers to purchase website memberships with recurring direct debit from their checking accounts.
"Our merchant base inquired about the possibility of incorporating additional non-credit-card-based billing mechanisms within the European market, so we listened to their needs and brought it to them," said Sam Anson, vice president of business development. "We now have the ability to offer European direct debit processing to our existing merchant base with a single click of the mouse. No added technical integration or password script installation is needed."
With the euro gaining strength and the U.S. dollar on the decline, GXBill said, the consumer base is growing in Europe, where many potential customers are not as comfortable with or capable of making online credit-card transactions as their American counterparts are.
Like all of GXBill's products, the new payment option is fully integrated within a variety of third-party affiliate software options, including MPA3, NATS and Partnersoft. No funds are held in reserve, and there is no danger of violating Visa's cross-border acquiring rules by adding this recurring payment option, GXBill said.
GXBill said it will add more markets on a ongoing basis.
