JAST USA affiliate brand G-Collections, a publisher of Japanese PC dating-sim games in English, has acquired two new adult-oriented bishoujo ("beautiful girl") games scheduled for release in mid- to late 2007.
The first, Snow Sakura, is a heartwarming tale of romantic love set in the picturesque countryside of Japan's northern island, Hokkaido. Players take the role of protagonist Yuuji as he begins to unravel the mystery surrounding a local legend that tells of the mysterious "snow sakura," a cherry blossom that blooms in the heart of winter. The game represents a classic renai ("true love") story from one of Japan's master game writers.
The second game is Lightning Warrior Raidy, G-Collections' first foray into the role-playing game genre. Players take the role of the fearless woman warrior Raidy in this classic 3D-style dungeon adventure. Raidy is tasked with the quest of clearing the tower of Kyubast of beautiful monster girls who have claimed it for their own and liberating the village of Saad. The game is replete with sex and lesbian ("yuri") themes.
In addition, JAST USA has launched what it believes to be the first official bishoujo game industry blog. It will feature regular news updates, exclusive promotions, and the latest information about the growing English-language bishoujo game industry.
