CHATSWORTH, Calif.—New 3D adult movie studio Funky Monkey has come on board as the video and content sponsor of The AVN Show, a groundbreaking event set for Aug. 5-8 at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla.
Funky Monkey released its first 3D feature film, Octopussy 3D: A XXX Parody, in April through New Sensations. The company is set to release MILF Memoirs 3D POV later this month and plans to street eight more 3D titles by the end of the year.
“We are very excited for the opportunity to sponsor The AVN Show, which we believe will help elevate our brand and 3D movies to an even higher level,” Funky Monkey President J Lalls told AVN. “No one has a reputation and reach like AVN, which is why we are so happy to be an AVN sponsor. We are also very appreciative of AVN’s interest and support in Funky Monkey Movies, and our vision and push to incorporate 3D into the adult market.”
All Funky Monkey movies are shot in both anaglyph and a polarized “3D TV ready” version.
The AVN Show caters to all market segments equally, but each with a unique twist. Traditional sectors such as content and production, novelty manufacturing and sales, and internet commerce will be joined by product distribution, retailer concerns and emerging technologies.
The AVN Show will occupy the entire venue for the duration. Without tourists and other curiosity seekers on the property, the mood is one of pure business, yet in a relaxed and inviting environment. AVN expects over 2,000 participants and 200-plus exhibitors at the debut show.
