First 'Miss Playboy Mobile' Model Search Under Way

NEW YORK - Playboy Mobile has announced the first "Miss Playboy Mobile" model search as part of its newest mobile initiative.

Playboy Mobile will combine the online community presence with millions of mobile phone users nationwide in order to entice sophisticated, sexy women to register and build online profiles in a quest to be crowned "Miss Playboy Mobile 2008."

Visitors to the online and mobile sites may view the candidates' profiles and vote using their mobile phones.

The winner will receive $5,000 and a professional photo shoot at the world-famous Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

"We are very excited about the very first ‘Miss Playboy Mobile' ... search, one of many new mobile initiatives we are launching this year," said Edward Lang, senior vice president and general manager of Playboy Enterprises' mobile and international online division. "From submissions to voting, this campaign is entirely consumer-driven. We designed it specifically to reflect the fun and sexy lifestyle shared by Playboy fans and mobile consumers."

Women who are at least 18 years old can register and submit photos for initial voting at Miss Playboy Mobile.

The first round of voting continues through March 15.

Voting on the 10 finalists will run from March 16-31, after which the finalists will be flown to Las Vegas.

The winner will be crowned on April 2 during a VIP celebration at the Palms Casino Resort's Hugh Hefner Sky Villa during the CTIA Wireless Association Convention.

Fans may view the entrants' profiles at the Miss Playboy Mobile website or Playboy Mobile's WAP site (WAP.Playboy.com), then text their favorite contestant's ID number to the Miss Playboy Mobile short code 67000. There is no fee for voting, but usual text-messaging rates may apply.
