LOS ANGELES - Joan Irvine, CEO of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection , has received a Certificate of Congressional Commendation from Congresswoman Jane Harman.
The certificate commends Irvine for her "outstanding dedication" to ASACP. Irvine has served as CEO for ASACP since 2002. With a background in e-commerce, business technology and association management, Irvine has been the driving force behind ASACP's ability to expand its efforts toward protecting children from viewing age-inappropriate content with the "Restricted to Adults" website label.
RTA is a free, easy-to-use and internationally recognized label that designates content for adults only. ASACP launched RTA in November 2006, and it now has more than 5 million link-ins and there are a billion hits to pages labeled with RTA daily.
"While it is truly an honor to be singled out for such a prestigious award, I share it with ASACP's sponsors and supporters who are the real driving force behind ASACP," said Irvine.
