CommerceGate Expands U.S. Presence

BARCELONA, Spain - Internet-payment service CommerceGate announced Thursday that it has increased its presence in the United States to make it easier for American companies to integrate and get websites into compliance.

The company has added two members to its U.S.-based team. Steve Leyden will handle client support from Secaucus, N.J., while Jimmy Christiansen will attend to compliance matters from San Francisco, Calif. The team previously consisted of two members, Jeff Southworth and Samantha Berman.

"CommerceGate is excited about expanding our Internet-payment-service operations in the United States market," said Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Skarlen. "We are expanding our team to meet the demands of our continued growth, and we look forward to being at the upcoming Internext show, where the industry gets a chance to meet with all of us and learn everything we have to offer."

CommerceGate has signed on as a seminar sponsor for Internext Las Vegas, which will run from Jan. 13-15 at the Palms Casino Resort.

"I'm thrilled to have CommerceGate as the seminar sponsor at Internext," said Chris Lebrun, senior account executive for AVN Media Network. "CommerceGate is a company that continues to grow and provide value to our industry. They are a company that continues to educate on the emerging technologies and payment solutions. They are an integral part of the show as they kick off their expansion for 2008."
