Catalina Video, NakedSword Sign Exclusive Deal

SAN FRANCISCO - Catalina Video has signed a three-year deal granting NakedSword and the NakedSword-AEBN network exclusive video-on-demand and streaming rights to its entire catalog of titles, which previously weren't available online.

Gay adult entertainment company Channel 1 Releasing, parent company of Catalina Video, reportedly chose gay VOD provider NakedSword-AEBN because of its wide consumer reach and success in promoting brands produced by Channel 1.

"I grew up watching many of the now-classic adult films in Catalina's catalog," NakedSword CEO Tim Valenti said. "That they would choose us to lose their ‘online virginity' is a huge honor. NakedSword customers who constantly demand only the highest-quality content will no doubt be pleased to have access to this incredibly rich catalog."

Chi Chi LaRue, a partner in Channel 1 Releasing and an award-winning director, also said he was excited about the deal, having grown up renting videos by Catalina and relocated to Los Angeles to work for the company.

"I'm thrilled that NakedSword will be bringing all those amazing Catalina classics to a new generation of porn lovers!" he said. "When we acquired this legendary studio's catalog, I knew we could increase its exposure and revitalize the brand. And now with NakedSword partnering with us on this, we're guaranteeing this happens in a big way."

Catalina titles will be featured on NakedSword-AEBN membership and pay-per-view sites. The catalog of more than 600 titles, many of which have been out of print for years, includes gay-porn classics such as Boys of Venice, Power Tool and Big Guns, as well as more recent hits such as CatalinaVille and My Overstuffed Jeans.

Founded in 1978 by GAYVN Hall of Fame director William Higgins, Catalina has been the studio home of porn legends such as Jeff Stryker, Steve Rambo, Lance, Matt Ramsey and Caesar, and directors such as John Travis, Scott Masters and Chi Chi LaRue.
