UNITED KINGDOM—Labour Party Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk wants everyone to know that he most certainly did not favor a salacious photo posted to Twitter. His smartphone did.
According to the Mirror, "A constituent flagged up the situation earlier this week after spotting he had favourited a picture by an account billing itself as 'an 18+ Erotic account for posting sexy pictures of sexy women.'"
The image, added the paper, "was initially posted by the account @aurore_tillman on March 22. Two days later a Twitter user calling himself Neil NW_Hoopz tweeted at the account: 'Have a look at what my MP @SimonDanczuk is favouriting on Twitter, #oops.'"
Blame the iPhone, says Danczuk, who was reportedly out "canvassing in Rochdale" when the image of reputed "hardcore porn" was favorited by the phone in his possession. A phone, he alleges, that has a mind of its own.
"It's a fault with my iPhone and I'm getting it replaced," he explained. "The screen starts flickering and jumping about and I've no idea how this happened."
Coincidentally, or not, the Mirror points out that this recent "slip-up came after Mr Danczuk's selfie-loving wife Karen was invited to host the UK Porn Awards, although she has apparently turned down the opportunity."
