LONG BEACH, Calif.—Real convergence—by which we mean the picture-perfect delivery of digital hardcore adult entertainment from the internet directly into your home and onto your big-screen TV—has taken another step forward with the integration of Wasteland content onto the latest set-top box to embrace adult content.
The industry’s original BDSM website announced Tuesday it is now working with EroticVision.tv (EVTV), a new service that brings the best internet adult entertainment to the big-screen television through the Roku Digital Video Player, which is available for purchase on the EVTV website, or www.roku.com, for under $100.
“EroticVision.tv’s service allows users to enjoy adult content on their living-room television without hooking a PC directly to it,” EVTV said in a press release issued Tuesday. “More succinctly, EroticVision.tv is internet erotica direct to your big-screen television, where it belongs.”
For Wasteland CEO Colin Rowntree, EVTV is nothing less than a revelation with legs. “I see EroticVision.tv’s solution for the Roku Digital Video Player as right up there with the second coming. It solves the multitude of problems adult entertainment companies have struggled with in deploying IPTV solutions to consumers,” he said, adding that with Roku’s open platform, customers aren’t buying (or using) the device just for porn. “Having an existing customer base of over 750,000 credit card-carrying adults who already use the Roku box for viewing mainstream content from Netflix, Amazon VOD and others, this solves the previous industry failures of trying to get their members to order an IPTV box which the customers know will only play porn, and only from the pay site they bought it from, forcing them into maintaining a membership to continue use of the box.”
The EroticVision.tv is also safe for the family, he added, with the adult channel nicely stashed away and password protected so that after the kids go to bed, all it takes is a flick of the remote and Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public can watch high-definition adult films from Wasteland.com and other content providers that partner with EroticVision.tv, secure in the knowledge that the kids cannot access the adult fare when they’re not being supervised.
“Subscribers to any participating adult site simply perform a one-time registration of their player and the EroticVision.tv application appears on the Roku Digital Video Player,” said EVTV. “The app features parental controls to restrict access to adults only. Users may then add content from any number of participating sites using their internet browser. Clicking the EVTV icon on the Roku makes their selections appear on their home theater, ready to play.”
For SpiceCash affiliates, the launch of Wasteland on EroticVision.tv coincides with the current promotion, which is paying webmasters $500 in bonus cash for every 30 sales to Wasteland.com, ending Dec. 31. Special banners and other promotional ad tools for Wasteland on Roku also are available for affiliates.
“It’s a great incentive for a great product at a great price point for all affiliates of Wasteland.com,” said Rowntree. “People will join Wasteland just to see the movies on the Roku Digital Video Player, which, once they buy it, will arrive in three days. Even trial members will roll over to full membership waiting for the box. Retention is that great!”
EroticVision.tv Founder and CEO John S. Jolliffe will also be speaking at the upcoming Adult Entertainment Expo (Jan 7-10 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada) on a seminar titled "Tech-Driven Business Models You Need to Know About." The seminar takes place Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
