CUPERTINO, Calif. - Apple continues to draw the line when it comes to racy applications for its popular iPhone.
The latest app to be banned from the Apple store is Wobble, a program that allows the user to visually "shake" any part of a picture. Wobble's developers incurred the wrath of Apple by using the words 'boobs' and 'booty' in their marketing text.
TechCrunch reports that Wobble was downloaded more thanĀ 20,000 times in a 10-day period. According to reports, Apple ordered the makers of Wobble told to remove "boobs" or "booty" from its marketing message or face its removal from the app store.
Developer Jon Atherton pointed out that searching iTunes for the same two words produced nearly 300 results. Apple had no comment on Atherton's findings.
Recently, AVN Online reported on iGirl, an application similar to Wobble featuring a virtual, interactive girl, and a semi-striptease cam show that turned up as part of UStream programming that goes to iPhones.
Apple has banned other applications it has found questionable, as well as books with passages it claimed did not meet the company's content standards.
