American Citizen Arrested in Pattaya for Hotel Porn Shoot

An American citizen was arrested by a Pattaya superintendent Sunday for renting a hotel room to produce pornographic movies for international sales online.

At 6 p.m., on June 8, Pol. Col. Nopadol Wongnom, Pattaya Superintendent, Pol. Capt. Sompop Kuhawan , Kuhawan, Deputy Chief of the International Crime Suppression Center, Chonburi and a police team, confirmed that they had arrested Todd Arthur Williams, 47, an American citizen, charged with producing porn for sale on websites, according to The Pattaya Daily News.

Pol. Col. Nopadol stated that The International Crime Suppression Centre in Chonburi was instructed to investigate after information was uncovered surrounding certain foreigners in Pattaya who were using Pattaya bar girls as a selling point to produce pornographic movies for online publication.

Police then obtained an arrest warrant to apprehend Williams who had rented a room in the Markland Hotel.

Williams admitted to police that he paid thousands of Baht to local girls at bars for engaging in sex acts on film, but maintained he was merely a cameraman and that the producer had fled to Bangkok.

Williams stated that Gary Schmad, a Bangkok resident, was the man who actually produced the porn for sale and performed sex in the film.

Williams went on to say that they had been producing these films for quite some time. Initially, police charged Williams with using a computer system to produce pornography and making such information available to the public.

Police have said they will seek another arrest warrant for the apprehension of Schmad.

Evidence confiscated by police included a laptop computer, four CDs showing Pattaya bar girls engaged in sex acts, a pack of Karmagra pills, a digital camera, six dildos and pornographic pictures.
