Video-on-demand website All Adult Channel (www.alladultchannel.com) is offering a free three-day trial to customers who pre-order its exclusive Kim Kardashian Superstar download.
According to All Adult Channel's director of marketing and merchandising Lawrence Novitch, the site's landing page is currently receiving over 500,000 hits per day. "Now that we have the pre-sale offer online, we hope to monetize those hits," said AAC's Lawrence Novitch. "Vivid did an excellent job on the teaser trailer for the movie; on average, people are spending six minutes on our site just watching the 30-second clip."
All Adult Channel's online premiere of the Kardashian sex video marks the first time an adult title has debuted in the download-to-burn format on the same day as its DVD release. The site's Flux software will allow web-surfers to burn the 41-minute Kardashian video to DVD in approximately one hour.
"We feel that Kim Kardashian Superstar could be a marketing breakthrough for download-to-burn," Novitch told AVN.com. "The pay-per-minute solution is more prevalent now, but this title has the potential to introduce online DVD burns to a broader consumer marketplace."
While there has reportedly been some concern behind the scenes that the Kardashian download will hurt retail DVD sales, Novitch emphasized that "we're not here to cannibalize retailers' sales. We're here to enhance those sales."
Novitch told AVN.com that the company has received several inquiries from retailers looking to set up their own online DVD burn stores. "We've created a custom burn store for any retailers interested in participating," he said. "We can set them up with links and whatever else they need for their customers who want to download and burn DVDs."
All Adult Channel's custom burn store is online at www.adultburn.com. The site currently offers product from Vivid, Red Light District, Elegant Angel and New Sensations. Novitch told AVN.com that the site has also closed online DVD burn deals with several other adult producers and is in the process of encoding the new content.
