LAS VEGAS - Offers.com is the big seller so far in the Affiliate Summit auction being held this week in Last Vegas, selling for $180,000.
"We knew we had interest in the domain name," said Monte Cahn, president of Moniker, which is overseeing the auction. "We knew it was a good name."
Cahn said the domain name sparked a bidding war between two parties and eventually was sold to an online bidder.
"It did a little better than even I expected," he said.
The domain AromatherapyCandles.com fetched the second-highest price, selling for $22,000.
The Affiliate Summit auction has garnered more than $371,000, but the silent auction will continue through March 6, Cahn said.
In a separate auction held last week during the Traffic Las Vegas domain conference, the domain SkiResorts.com was the big seller during the live auction, netting $850,000, Cahn said. That auction, which officially closes Thursday, has brought in more than $4.5 million to date, he said.
Other top sellers from the Traffic Las Vegas auction include Meds.com for $470,000, DVDs.com for $300,000, CPC.com for $200,000 and the sites PenisEnlargment.com, PenisSize.com and PenisSizes.com bundled together for $110,000.
"One that might be of interest to the adult community is Traffic.mobi, which sold for $110,000," Cahn said.
