Adult FriendFinder Members to Pick Charities for Donation

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Dating site Adult FriendFinder has invited members to vote on which charities will receive parts of the company's planned $200,000 donation.

Members may nominate and vote for charities through Dec. 15 and are invited to discuss their suggestions in a community blog.

"Social networking is all about giving the power to the people," said Andrew Conru, founder of Adult FriendFinder. "In this case, we value our members' suggestions on ways to contribute to those in need. We hope that blogging about these donations will inspire our members to do their own holiday giving and that everyone will learn more about the many deserving charities that need their support."

Adult FriendFinder said Monday that more than 30,000 votes have been received across the network. The charities with the most votes so far are American Red Cross, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society and Make a Wish Foundation.

Each charity is set to receive $20,000-$40,000.

Adult FriendFinder has nearly 19 million members and is part of the FriendFinder network. Membership is free.
