WARRENDALE, Pa. - Adult DVD Empire has announced the nominees for the 2008 Empire Awards.
Digital Playground's Pirates 2: Stagnetti's Revenge leads the list of contenders, with nine nominations including Best Overall DVD, Best Feature DVD, Best Blu-ray, and Viewer's Choice.
Wicked Pictures' Fallen is the second most-nominated release, scoring in seven categories including Best Overall DVD, Best Feature DVD and Best DVD Extras.
Other multiple award-nominated releases this year include Vivid's Cry Wolf, Elegant Angel's Alexis Texas is Buttwoman, Zero Tolerance's Interactive Sex with Bree Olson, Vouyer Media's The Gauntlet 3, Hustler's Who's Nailin' Paylin?, and SexZ Pictures' Icon.
Now entering their ninth year, the Empire Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in adult DVD production. The awards were designed to recognize digital video and audio quality, bonus features, and other areas of interest to DVD-philes.
Winners are determined according to the votes of Adult DVD Empire's editorial staff and in-house reviewers, along with other notable adult critics and select industry leaders. The Viewer's Choice Award is open to public voting online at www.EmpireAwards.com.
The 2008 Empire Awards include 20 categories and apply to titles released on DVD and Blu-ray disc between Dec. 1, 2007 and Dec. 1, 2008.

The winners of the 2008 Empire Awards will be announced Friday, Feb. 20.
