CHATSWORTH, Calif. - AVN Online, the trade journal of the adult digital media market, has relaunched with a new editorial focus, beginning with its May issue.
Readers will notice a significant change that reflects what the adult digital market has become: a combination of business and lifestyle.
Lifestyle elements will be covered in new sections devoted to travel, the Web at large and features that capture the essences of major players in the adult business. The first feature focuses on adult superstar Tera Patrick and her husband, TeraVision CEO Evan Seinfeld.
"The lifestyle editorial enhancements reflect our readers' perspectives - who they are, what they want to know and how they are functioning in today's digital world," Publisher MJ McMahon said. "Business practices and reporting is still our primary focus, but as the lines between our professional and personal lives blur, we wanted to present both sides in our publication. It better satisfies our readers' needs, and it makes for a much more exciting, engaging book."
AVN Online also is devoting part of its editorial focus to the thriving gay market with a new section that focuses on gay adult digital content. The section will be written by AVN Media Network staff members, TheSword.com Editor Michael Stabile and PrideBucks co-owner Harlan Yaffe.
The May issue, with a cover story on "What's Hot," focuses on the models, companies, websites and trends that are setting new standards in the adult industry. The issue is framed by an exclusive cover shoot featuring Tera Patrick.
"We are all very excited about the changes and about kicking them off by examining what and who are hot right now," Editor Sherri L. Shaulis said. "We put a lot of hard work into these changes, and I really think readers are going to enjoy the new look and feel of AVN Online."
Although much of AVN Online's editorial focus has evolved, several regular features remain, including "Cybersiren," "Out There," "Executive Suite" and "Playing in Traffic."
"The one thing that isn't changing is AVN Online's commitment to providing pertinent and cutting-edge features, news, statistics and reviews," McMahon said. "We will continue to set the standard for industry publications."
