LOS ANGELES - The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection CEO Joan Irvine will attend the Atlanta Forum, scheduled for Sept. 18-20, and be available for meetings to discuss the nonprofit group's work to stop child pornography and protect children online.
The Atlanta Forum, a sister show to The Phoenix Forum presented by ASACP Platinum Sponsor NationalNet, will be held at the W Hotel Perimeter Center in Atlanta.
"With the recent COPA ruling, it was determined that parental filtering was as effective as age verification systems when it came to helping parents prevent their children from viewing age-inappropriate content," Irvine said. "ASACP's award winning Restricted to Adult - RTA website label has become the industry standard label for protecting children online and stopping the US Congress from legislating mandatory labeling.
"It is only because of the support of ASACP's sponsors like NationalNet that there has been such progress in its child protection mission. National Net has supported the ASACP mission for over four years. In additional to their financial support, they have been volunteers at ASACP booths at tradeshows, introduced us to other potential sponsors, providing hosting services, and now they have helped ASACP have a presence at the first Atlanta Forum. I want to thank Tony, Bill and Kathi for their ongoing support," Irvine added.
