CHARLOTTE, N.C.—AEBN has announced the nominees of its annual VOD Awards. For the fifth year in a row, AEBN is recognizing the most popular films and stars of the year, as chosen by the viewing habits of the millions of fans who visit the company's global network of theaters.
Nominations are based on minute sales in the theaters during one calendar year, decided upon with a precise, in-house accounting system. The awards cover a wide range of genres, and include recognition for Performer of the Year and Best Newcomer. Special honors are also given for Lifetime Achievement and Studio of the Year.
“The AEBN VOD Awards are always greeted with excitement around the office,'' said AEBN's Suzann Knudsen. “As these nominees are picked by the online view counts over the past 12 months, we usually have a general idea of who we might see, but we always have a couple of unexpected titles that have been just slow and steady all year long.”
Along with the new set of nominees, AEBN has unveiled a completely redesigned site to accompany the 2010 Awards, created to feature the nominees to maximum effect. The new site also will have coverage of winners from previous years, while clips from the nominated movies will be available for preview on the exclusive VOD Awards channel on PornoTube.com.
“Awards such as the VOD Awards, which are based on consumer spending, are even more important in a year like this," continues Knudsen. "With all the economic uncertainty we've experienced this year, people are only spending on what they really love, and that's what you'll see in the nominees—the content our consumers really love. That's invaluable knowledge going into 2010."
