LOS ANGELES—XR Brands, riding the momentum of a sales surge in 2020 and an "O" Award win in January, is eyeing a big presence at the summer edition of the all-digital Adult Novelty Expo (ANE) this June 22-25.
The Expo once again will go all-digital on ANE’s cutting-edge virtual platform, where qualified industry members can interact in a variety of ways that include 1-on-1 meetings, group presentations and through virtual booths.

A forward-thinking trendsetter in the adult products industry, XR has been making waves since its founding in 2000 in the Baltimore garage of its owner and the company continues to expand as a go-to name for kink supplies in addition to marketing several of their own brands.
“I attribute our success to a harmony of all departments working together to produce a quality line that is appealing to customers’ education,” said Rebecca Weinberg, who became president of XR Brands in January 2019. “Education by our amazing Josh Ortiz and our solid sales team have built strong relationships with all of our customers.”
XR, which moved to Southern California in 2003 and established itself in Huntington Beach, built its reputation in the BDSM and fetish categories thanks to the success of its fetish-focused brands, including the Master Series fetish tools, the introduction of the Puppy Play Kit and other role-play tools, new rimming and anal play products, and more.
“XR started in the BDSM world selling all sorts of hardcore BDSM gear,” explained Weinberg. “We were one of the first, if not the first, in the US, to package BDSM items for sale within our Master Series line of products.”
Master Series, which was the first brand XR launched, is considered the mainstay of their lines. Newer brands such as popular anal toys, Tailz, and Booty Sparks, appeal to all genders and preferences. XR Brands in January won the 2021 AVN "O" Award for Outstanding Innovation for the Whizperz voice-activated vibrating egg.
XR’s range of products includes the all-around Strap U line, which features their trademark strapless strap-on as well as many accessories. These newer lines have out-performed expectations for the company.
XR also features the Tom of Finland line of products specifically aimed at the gay men’s market, capitalizing on the iconic artist who pioneered sex positive images of masculine, gay men. The line was launched in collaboration with the Tom of Finland Foundation in 2015. Currently there are 58 products available in the Tom of Finland line.
“The line has done well for us, however bringing awareness of such a special artist to our industry was the true success for me,” Weinberg said. “We plan on adding more affordable items to this line in the near future to focus the line on a younger demographic.”
