The Naughty Teddy Kicks Off Grand Opening Weekend

FULLERTON, Calif.—Though there were some last-minute decorations being put up and items being placed on the shelves, The Naughty Teddy officially opened in downtown Fullerton today, and employees are marking the occasion with a grand opening celebration through Sunday.

"We wanted to make this store something new, something different than other retail stores," said owner Lanny Cohen.

To that end, the specialty store that offers everything from lingerie to sexual health products to mainstream movies will also offer classes and other amenities not offered at traditional adult stores.

"We have one room that will be set up so female customers can have pictures taken of themselves in their new outfits for their husbands and boyfriends," said Dawn Aquino, manager of The Nauvghty Teddy.

The Naughty Teddy plans to have professionals photographers in the store a few evenings week, and customers can make appointments for the photo sessions. But the sessions aren't the only connection to art The Naughty Teddy has. Decorating the pale pinks walls of the location are original pieces by Karen Locke, a Los Angeles-based artist who created colored sketches of pin-ups to serve as decoration and inventory.

"We have the art on display since we are sponsoring her an as artist, but each piece is available for sale," Aquino said.

Additionally, The Naughty Teddy will offer a space that will double as dressing rooms and a meeting place for gathering of women celebrating everything from bachelorette parties to home parties.

To mark the opening, The Naughty Teddy will offer specials, promotional giveaways, and 10 percent discounts through Sunday. The store is located at 129 W. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton, Calif.
