NAPA, Calif.—Who knew The New York Times actually cared about such things? Testers contributing to The Times’ assessment evaluated toys on the basis of whether they were sufficiently powerful to induce an orgasm; having multiple or variable speeds; being made of a high-quality, easy-to-clean, nonporous body-safe material; having a long battery life; and “user friendliness” with intuitive functionality. Per Jarvis, no pleasure product offers the same level of power and intensity as the Magic Wand. And though the Rechargeable has a higher price point than the Original Magic Wand, Jarvis maintained that “it’s worth the additional cost.”
