WICHITA FALLS, Texas—A Facebook post from a Texas-based organization that provides information on lactation, birth and wellness services has gone viral thanks to the unusual item depicted in the photo.
Melons and Cuties earlier this month shared a photo of a mom helping to treat her infant’s congestion by using a vibrator placed on the baby’s back while sitting in a steamy bathroom.
The photo instantly created a buzz, and to date has seen more than 20,000 shares and 26,000 comments. While there were a few comments trying to shame the mom and the organization, they were quickly shut down. The majority of the comments have been supportive, while others have shared experiences of using vibrators in a smilier fashion. Still others were quick to make jokes.
“If I used mine right the first time, I wouldn't be in this situation,” one woman wrote. Another commenter replied, “Hell just put one under your boob while you breastfeed and your baby can have a milkshake,” while yet another woman commented, “I just bought three! Don’t let the fact that I don’t have any kids make this weird.”
Melons and Cuties noted in their comment that respiratory therapists said the gentle vibrations can help to loosen mucous secretions in the lungs of infants and small children, making it easier for little ones to cough them up.
