LOS ANGELES—Icon Brands has released “Darth Invader,” a 14-inch by 3-inch dildo that parodies the iconic Star Wars for which it is named. “Darth” was recently unveiled at this year's ANME show.
“We’ve never had quite the response to a single item,” an Icon rep said. “The number of retailers who simply had to have a photo with the piece was really quite surprising, given all the entertaining products at the show … not to mention the storeowners who simply 'had' to take it home after the show.”
Darth is made of phthalate-free PVC and is solid black in color. An Icon engineer offered that Darth is “ergonomically designed for plausible penetration, with a tapering diameter at the top and bottom, and even a smooth cape along the back for ease of insertion.”
The company is also quick to remind buyers that because of its substantial size, they’ve also “sized up” the suction cup, for “hands-solo fun.”
An Icon rep added, “The marketing team behind Darth Invader was the same group behind Vivid’s many award-winning Marvel parodies, and they quite enjoyed revisiting the whole parody-product experience, which is very apparent in the packaging.”
