LOS ANGELES - Greenwood/Cooper re-released the first of its DaVinci Body Series videos on DVD in February due to overwhelming consumer demand, according to Julian Hobson, director of business affairs and film acquisitions.
"Now, fans can finally learn the original steamy exercises that started this successful workout collection by buying Upper Body Workout for the first time ever on DVD," he said. "With the resurging interest in the successful series, Greenwood/Cooper will also release the first brand-new title in the series in over a decade."
DaVinci V: Nude Yoga will feature traditional and innovative yoga techniques that teach viewers to celebrate their minds, spirits and nude bodies. Greenwood/Cooper said it will be the first in several new releases aimed at empowering people through naked exercise.
DaVinci Body Series I: Upper Body Workout, originally released on VHS in 1992, features five bare-skinned athletes demonstrating upper-body exercises that focus on abdominals, chest, shoulders and triceps. From a light warm-up led by a championship gymnast to a national heavyweight bodybuilder's demonstration of a rigorous triceps program, Upper Body Workout offers more than 20 toning techniques.
"The series was named after the famous painter," Hobson said. "It's designed to show viewers how to create chiseled bodies often depicted in the renaissance painter's masterpieces. Like all Greenwood/Cooper titles, the DaVinci series is a celebration of the male physique."
Upper Body Workout is the original video in the series, which also includes DaVinci II: Lower Body, DaVinci III: Aerobics (soon to be released on DVD), DaVinci Nude Stretch and DaVinci Partner Stretch.
