Good Vibes, O.school Team for Animated Web Series

SAN FRANCISCO—Sex-positive adult retailer Good Vibrations has partnered with online media platform O.school, a leading resource for non-judgmental sexuality, to produce a new web series aimed at reducing sexual shame.

“My Sex Toy Gives Me Superpowers” is an animated collection of first-person accounts of how sex toys have helped transform their users. The first installment of the series launches today.

“I was so struck by the stories in these videos of overcoming shame and lack of information,” Carol Queen, PhD, staff sexologist at Good Vibrations said. “Sadly, this is too many people’s experience of finding themselves sexually, and I know these little videos will give people hope and inspire them to get more knowledge. It’s not just the sex toy that’s the superpower—it’s the empowerment, the ability to feel whole and content as a sexual person.”

Each 60-second story shares one person’s discovery of self-pleasure, and its life-altering impact. From the discovery of one’s true identity to new confidence in the boardroom, to the power to heal, storytellers bring viewers on a journey as their sex toys transform and empower them.

“Sex toys gave me the power to reimagine myself outside the confines of religious stigma,” said Andrea Barrica, founder of O.school. “That transformation provided the self-knowledge and confidence that helped me in all aspects of my life. I’m eager to use my powers to destroy the culture of shame that leaves so many people feeling alone and helpless.”
“My Sex Toy Gives Me Superpowers” videos are animated by Lee Friend Roberts (whose other animation work can be found @erma.fiend).
Each video will launch on Instagram at @odotschool and @goodvibestoys, as well as other social media platforms and both the O.school and Good Vibrations websites.
