BURBANK, Calif.—The ANME Founders Show, hosted by the “Big Five” of the novelty industry, is the best place to find the newest items from some of the largest manufacturers of sex toys, and the most recent show was no exception.
“We’re coming back, and we’re coming back in a big way,” noted Topco Sales’ Sales Executive Lynda Mort.
In this case, “big” meant figuratively and literally, as the company—which suffered some public funding woes in recent years but is on the road to recovery thanks to new investors—showcased some of the largest masturbators ever.
Through its partnership with Penthouse, the novelty manufacturer unveiled the Penthouse CyberSkin Reality Girl love dolls at ANME. The three-dimensional dolls are lifesize and molded—from their faces to their vaginas, and everything in between—from some of the hottest Penthouse Pets: Jenna Rose, Nicole Aniston and Marica Hase.
Each of the dolls is posed in a crouching position, with enhanced breasts and openings at the mouth, vagina and anus. The dolls can be used in a variety of positions, and Topco filmed original movies to show how to use the dolls.
“We even made 3D movies with the dolls to show their capabilities,” she said. “The idea is that they will do everything that your wife doesn’t!”
That includes going fishing, hanging out at the poker game and event skydiving, as one of the cheeky videos shows a professional skydiver strapping in with a doll and jumping out of a plane. The movies can serve as fun content for consumers, or as commercials inside retail outlets to draw buyers’ attention.
The dolls are all made from Topco’s CyberSkin formula, which is designed to mimic the look and feel of real flesh.
Additionally, Topco introduced new bags for the existing line of Virtual Sex masturbators, including The Perfect Woman. The bags allow customer to discreetly carry their purchases out of the store, and also doubles as a storage case for the pieces, which are modeled after the torsos of men and women. Other additions to Topco’s product lines includes new items in the Average Joe and Star Performers Series lines of vibrating dongs, both from the Wild Fire line of products.
Nasstoys also unveiled several new products at ANME, including the latest additions to the RAM collection. The products, which are in stock now and available for shipping, include the Anal Balloon Pump and the RAM Cock Kit.
The balloon pump is perfect for men wishing to engage in anal play, since it has a bendable tube and a squeeze bulb to control the amount of inflation once inserted. A quick-release valve adds to the levels of comfort and safety. The cock kit has a penis extender with a vibrator in the tip for vibration, and a four-loop ring that can be used in a variety of ways to add pleasure to both partners during intercourse.
Also new from Nasstoys is the Deep Stroker Butterfly vibrator. A rabbit-style vibrator with a butterfly clitoral stimulator, the Deep Stroker also boasts a thrusting shaft for added stimulation.
Pipedream Products continues to grow its award-winning Fetish Fantasy Extreme line, this time around adding everything a variety of new bondage sets and kits. Among the newest offerings are the Honeymoon Bondage Kit, which has satin wrist and ankle cuffs, a love mask, a feather tickler and more with a white color scheme. Also new are the Bedroom Lover’s Kit, Master & Servant Kit, Kinky Kitty Kit and many more.
Also garnering plenty of attention at the Pipedream booth was the new Ceramix Pleasure Pottery Line. The collection boasts 12 pieces—six vibrating and six non-vibrating—all uniquely designed in the USA. Each piece is handcrafted from clay and infused with Ytrium, the same component found in high-end jewelry to give the pieces an ultra smooth surface.
The non-vibrating pieces have a silicone plug in the base, which can be removed so the inside can be filled with warm or cool water for temperature play. The vibrating models boast six patterns of speed and pulsation.
Doc Johnson wowed the crowds with additions to several existing lines, including Platinum Silicone, iVibe and James Deen collections.
“The iVibe line really got a lot of attention a few years ago, and now it’s back and better than ever,” said Victoria Bowman-Steinour, director of marketing and public relations for Doc Johnson.
For not a lot of money, the iVibe line offers tremendous value, she said, since all pieces will retail for $99 or less. The pieces have a modern design, and sleek packaging—including magnetic closure boxes that double as storage cases.
“The pieces are designed for people who want to upgrade from their bullet or egg vibrators but don’t want to break the bank,” she said.
The vibrating pieces in the line have 10 functions of speed and pulsation, and all are made from silicone.
Also new to Doc Johnson is the OptiMale collection, a cohesive new line of rings, strokers, P-spot massagers and more. With sleek packaging designed to stand out on retailers’ shelves, the line also includes a selection of personal care products specifically designed for men, including a clear and odorless pheromone booster and a thick, rich shaving cream specifically designed for more sensitive areas.
“It’s very rich in emollients and moisturizers, and doesn’t contain any alcohol, which can dry out skin and make men prone to nicking or cutting the thinner skin down there,” Bowman-Steinour said.
Doc Johnson also added to the popular Mood collection of items, which features bright colors and compelling and informative packaging.
Most items will begin shipping within the next few weeks to the next few months.
California Exotic Novelties and sister company Jopen also drew crowds with expansions of existing lines and the launch of new collections, including the Scandal line.
With a red-and-black motif similar to CalExotics’ Tantric line, the Scandal line adds new light BDSM-themed products to the company’s offerings, while maintaining a softer edge.
“Many products have lace detailing that gives it a softer look, while the red-and-black coloring appeals to men, too,” said Desiree Duffie, director of marketing and public relations for CalExotics.
CalExotics also augmented popular and award-winning lines, including products from Dr. Laura Berman and Dr. Joel Kaplan. Additionally, the Bendies line of items were revamped and made into a more cohesive collection.
As for Jopen, company reps touted the new lines of cosmetic offerings, as well as the introduction of the Lust line of vibrators.
The Lust items are crafted from silicone and are silky soft to the touch. With vibrant pastel coloring, the pieces resemble flowers: The vibrating shafts are surrounded by silicone “petals” that carry the vibrations throughout and peel away to cover the perineum and/or clitoris, or even a man’s shaft. The purple and green coloring is carried through on the packaging, which are magnet-closure boxes that can also be used for storage.
The items will begin shipping within the next few months.
