AUSTIN, Texas—Interactive Life Forms, makers of the Fleshlight line of male masturbators, took the opportunity of hundreds of thousands of visitors descending on its hometown of Austin, Texas, for the South by Southwest film festival to debut The Launch, the company’s first interactive device.
More than 800 SXSW attendees made their way to the Fair Market for the special party Saturday night, where Fleshlight founder Steve Shubin presented The Launch, which is the result of a partnership between Interative Life Forms and Kiiroo, an Amsterdam-based tech company that specializes in sex tech/teledildonics.
Guests at the special event were able to enjoy the club atmosphere thanks to DJ Carter Cruise and mix and mingle with some of the biggest names in adult entertainment, including Ryan Driller, Joanna Angel, Boomer Banks and Lisa Ann, who introduced Shubin and his wife to the crowd.
“This is a great opportunity for men and women to experience their fantasies as best they possibly can,” Shubin told attendees. “The webcam world has come to us and finally we have the opportunity to connect with people online and actually feel the people you are talking to.”
Before playing a short video, Shubin informed the crowd The Launch and the partnership between Fleshlight and Kiiroo is “the first of many incredible things to come.”
The Fleshlight Launch is a special casing that holds a traditional Fleshlight sleeve, and allows users to put their Fleshlight on “cruise control.” The Launch lets users opt for a hands-free experience with a Smart Touch feature that handles the speed and stroke; or they can choose to partner The Launch to synched content with virtual reality and POV experiences; or they can employ the teledildonic connectivity to play with a partner via webcam or over long distances.
