LOS ANGELES—Europe’s preeminent adult products trade show, Erofame, wrapped its three-day trade only expo in Hanover, Germany, on Sept. 27.
Drawing from manufacturers from around the world, as well as several major distributors from several countries within Europe, buyers from independent retail stores, webstores and chains—as well as other distributors—kept the booths busy. Showcasing recent developments in technology and design, the show proved how the global sexual health and wellness profession is advancing at a rapid pace.
The U.S. was represented by stalwart companies such as CalExotics in their own booth adjacent to Netherlands-based Scala, Pipedream Products in Orion’s booth, and Honey Play Box in the Eropartner booth. Fleshlight had an impressive booth, showcasing their latest designs and featured models’ shapes.
Susan Colvin, CEO of CalExotics, shared, “The show went well! We saw everyone we expected to see who were quite impressed with our product lines we have launched this year. Our booth was busy the whole time and I was glad I brought our U.S. sales team.” Lupe Martinez, international business development director for CalExotics, added, “We had lots of appointments, and the show was better than expected. There was more engagement with retailers from Eastern European countries, Ukraine, Russia, Latin America, and Australia. It really is an international show!”
Many new products were showcased during the three days of the show. Popular pleasure company, Kiiroo, launched a dildo attachment that responds to motion created during penetration and wirelessly connects to their Keon stroker, which responds to the frenzied pace of the ins and outs. It’s definitely an outstanding couples sex toy.
Several newcomers were also featured at the show. Secret Dome showed their unique and portable BDSM cabins, comfortably zipping a submissive in a sturdy fabric cage, allowing for ventilation and holes that open and close for groping and receiving pleasure and letting the subbie’s head comfortably poke out of the top. Their offerings also included a strong, portable BDSM room with plenty of hooks to attach tools of the trade inside.
LocKink presented high quality restraints and clamps available in well chosen kits in gorgeous cases.
Portugal-based Orgie presented their latest additions to their cosmetics-based products and increasing their presence in the world market.
Japanese-based Tenga was represented by their European team and introduced new products and colors of their many products, including their best-selling iroha line. The Puffy strokers, available in soft, pastel colors, was a favorite of the show given the unique feel they offer both inside and out of the product.
British company, Creative Conceptions, rolled out new styles of their popular Unihorn line of cute toys, which were very well received by the Erofame crowd and many of their releases will be available in the fall.
Buyers also enjoyed the variety and depth of the products that were showcased at the show. Lindsay, based in Canada with the BodiSpa B2B and Nobu companies, added, “We had a great time meeting our international and European partners, and we were quite surprised that we got to meet our manufacturers from China.”
She continued, “The Oktoberfest party was such a great time and we just loved putting faces to names that we’ve been emailing for years. I think it was really productive for us!”
After being a single show in the autumn in Hanover for many years, the show is shifting to a spring show in Malaga, Spain in April and a show in Amsterdam in October, 2025.
“People are really looking forward to the show in the new locations," said Matt Johnson of EAN magazine. "The weather is beautiful in Spain and everyone loves going to Amsterdam. We already have people signing up for booths, so we’re looking forward to our new location as much as our buyers. We can’t wait for 2025, here in Europe.”
