BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Eldorado Trading Company is celebrating Human Resources Manager Laurie Fehler for her 40 years of service and dedication.
“It’s been great working with Laurie over the past 40 years,” said Wanda Garland, Eldorado CEO. “We’ve shared many experiences that have created a lot of wonderful memories. During her tenure here, Laurie has experienced Eldorado transitioning from smoking paraphernalia to the 19,000 adult industry products we carry today. We are fortunate to have her as a part of the family and we greatly appreciate her contributions that have helped make Eldorado a leading distributor in the adult industry. We look forward to having her on board for many years to come.”
In the spring of 1978, Fehler’s then roommate was working at Eldorado and heard they were hiring a secretary. Fehler applied and got the job, thinking it would be temporary. Throughout her 40 years at Eldorado, she has filled a variety of roles throughout the company. Now that Eldorado has grown to more than 100 employees, Fehler exclusively focuses her efforts as the company’s human resources manager.
“I have never been bored at Eldorado,” Fehler said. “I have been very blessed to have both opportunities and challenges throughout the years. Looking back, it amazes me the challenges we have met as a team and how we strive to turn them into opportunities, all while preserving the company’s guiding principles.
“Owners Wanda and Larry Garland always encouraged personal growth and for us to enjoy our lives,” she added. “They, along with many co-workers, customers and vendors, have been great mentors and family.”
Outside of work, Fehler enjoys spending time with her husband and family, including her three grandchildren. She also likes to curl up with a good book, watch softball and spend time outdoors fishing or camping.
Though she doesn’t think she can squeeze out another 40 years, she looks forward to her future at Eldorado “knowing that I am part of a team striving to do better than our best.”
