Australian Man Creating Luxury, Jewel-Encrusted Vibes

PERTH, Australia—Colin Burn has a passion for jewelry, using gems, pearls and more to create beautiful and magnificent items. But perhaps his crowning achievements are the luxury pleasure products he creates, including a $1 million vibrator covered in white diamonds, blue sapphires, South Sea Pearls and more.

While the sex toys created by Burn through his company Burn Jewellery might not always be practical, there’s no denying they are stunning. His collection covers everything from an 18k yellow gold Padlock Choker priced at $1,200 to the Pearl Royale, which carries the $1 million price tag.

The Pearl Royale, however, is still just a prototype and is not yet being commercially produced.

“This unique piece of functional jewellery art is the most lavish and opulent sexual device every conceived,” the Pearl Royale’s description reads at BurnJewellery.com. “Designed as a regal statement of pure luxury and opulence, this unique piece is sure to re-define the value we place on the sexual experience.”

Burn spent more than four years crafting the piece, which boasts 2,041 white diamonds, 37 white pearls, 74 blue sapphires and 18 rare pink diamonds. The piece is cast in solid platinum. The gems are flush set and don’t protrude; Burn maintains the vibrator is gentle enough for actual use.

The 53-year-old Burn has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and made a name for himself by developing a technique for gilding leaves and flowers in gold and silver. Eventually, he set his sights on creating pleasure products for the elite 1 percent.

“Burn conceived the idea to create truly opulent sexual products as he felt no one had ever truly made a luxurious pleasure device,” his artist description reads. “Many have laid claim but the reality is the market is only littered with gold plated items low in real value and masquerading as luxury. Solid gold and diamonds denote real luxury and even then one has to carefully select only the finest raw materials to create a piece of genuine luxury jewellery. It was never Burn’s intention to make a range of commercial products but instead create genuine handmade luxury items for avid collectors who would appreciate his fine quality workmanship and artistic concept.  Burn considers his luxury erotic creations as functional art to be both admired and enjoyed.

Burn plans to conduct lavish exhibits in the U.S., China and Japan in 2017, showcasing his creations, including the Pearl Royale. For information on the exhibit, email Burn at [email protected].
