HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.—AdamandEve.com on Thursday released new results from its annual sex survey. The company asked more than 1,000 adults if they’d ever seen a friend, roommate or parent’s sex toy by mistake, and their answers may be surprising to some.
Of those polled, 35 percent of the men and 27 percent of the women said they had seen a friend or family member’s sex toy left out in the open. Seventy-three percent of the women versus 65 percent of the men had never seen a friend or family member’s sex toy by mistake.
“Sex toys can be amazing on their own or with a partner,” said AdamandEve.com sexpert Dr. Kat Van Kirk. “To maintain your privacy, invest in an ‘adult’ toy box or bag, or look into toys that don’t scream ‘sex.’ There are plenty of products available that look like small electronics, makeup or objects of art, in the event that they are seen.”
“Adam & Eve is pleased to offer a variety of adult toys and discreet toy bags in a variety of shapes and sizes,” added AdamandEve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis.
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third-party survey company, of more than 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
