Adam & Eve Asks 'How Do Sex Toys Fit Into Your Relationship?'

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.—Adamandeve.com is back this month with new results from its annual sex survey. This time, the company asked more than 1,000 adults how they incorporate sex toys into their relationships—and their answers may surprise you, the company says.

Of those polled, 15 percent of the women and 21 percent of the men said they introduce sex toys at the beginning of a relationship. Thirty-six percent of the women and 38 percent of the men wait a month or so to add sex toys into their bedroom fun, and 47 percent of the women and 41 percent of the men said they waited a year or more.

When asked who initiates the use of adult toys with their partners, 26 percent of the women and 23 percent of the men said they bring it up. Twenty-eight percent of the women and 33 percent of the men said they waited until their partner expressed an interest in sex toys, and 46 percent of the women and 44 percent of the men said they don’t use sex toys with a partner.

“Sex toys can add a fun, exciting element to relationships, no matter how new or established,” explains adamandeve.com sexpert Dr. Kat Van Kirk. “From blindfolds to body paints to his and hers massagers, toy use can help you experience one another in a whole new light as well as improve your overall relationship satisfaction.”

“Adam & Eve is pleased to provide hundreds of different types of adult toys for men, women and couples, in all different shapes, sizes and intensities,” says adamandeve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis.

The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of more than 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
