LOS ANGELES - Online pics of High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens posing with a fan got teen dream Zac a Christmas stocking filled with condoms from his mother.
When the photo of the Disney darlings posing with a fan hit the Web in December, tabloids and Internet gossip sites identified the location as a "sex shop". In the April issue of Elle magazine, Efron says the photo was snapped in "a costume store."
The sex shop stigma provoked a latex intervention from Hollywood mom Starla Efron.
"My mom is like, 'Zac, what did you buy in a sex shop?'" Efron told Elle. "I was like, 'Mom, calm down, it's not a sex shop.' She wouldn't have any of it. She's like, 'I knew you were being sexual!' But she understood. My stocking was full of condoms this Christmas. She buys me the economy box."
Efron defended the duo's trip to the store, saying it was taken around Halloween about two years ago, and that a section featuring more adult costumes was located in the back. It was in that area, he said, the "nice older woman asked for a photo."
Rumors that the "nice older woman" also requested Zac's carpet-cleaning services are entirely false.
