PORT TALBOT, Wales - The owner of a sex shop said the city of Port Talbot is "behind in the times" for banning his stock displays.
When Simon Tony Sternschuss, owner of Secret Desires, had his license renewed by the registration and licensing committee, the committee said the shop is not allowed to have a window display.
"All we want is to have some nice underwear in the window," he reportedly said. "We want to appeal to couples and females."
He said Secret Desires would benefit from having a window display instead of blacked-out windows with "adult shop" in bold type.
The shop, which is surrounded by five churches and schools, sells adult toys, films and clothing. It previously has drawn objections from residents.
Committee members said they will reconsider following Sternschuss' reapplication.
