VALENCIA, Calif. - Trigg Laboratories, the manufacturer of WET lubricants, has announced plans to begin a green initiative this summer.
Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Martsolf told AVN Novelty Business the philosophy behind the decision stems from the quality of the product.
"Our personal care products are already eco-friendly and safe for consumers to use," she explained. "Instituting these changes just promotes that basic philosophy on a global level. We discovered the cost to change our packaging over to the new green alternatives to be about the same, so it made the green choice easy to implement."
Trigg has switched all of its PVC bottles to PET, a recyclable phthalate-free plastic, in the U.S. and European markets.
"Our new PET bottles are very attractive because they are a cleaner, greener plastic," Martsolf said. "The new bottles will be coming online in early June."
The switch is another earth-friendly move by Trigg, which makes in-store display materials of 90 percent recyclable paper and has packed WET International lubricants with biodegradable peanuts and crushed Kraft paper for years.
"Corn or wheat starch is the basis of our packing peanuts," Martsolf said. "Even though they are biodegradable, our shipping department is meeting our challenge to use less and less of them."
