Vibrating Works of Art: Love Toys from Fun Factory

BREMEN, Germany—No question about it: good design always has something to do with passion and lust, especially where sensuous products like love toys from Fun Factory are concerned.

The international jury for the iF product design awards 2010 agreed, and three Fun Factory products were awarded the internationally renowned prize for design. The vibrators DeLight and BiMiNi FLASH, as well as the vaginal balls SMARTBALLS Teneo duo stood out in the category “Leisure/Lifestyle” with their expressive forms.

These small works of art combine the quest for pleasure with timeless elegance. Only upon close inspection does the observer get a more exact idea how much passion is packed into each exceptional design.

The DeLight already won the reddot design award in 2008—the first erotic toy ever to gain this honor—and also was nominated by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology for the Design Prize 2009. The iF product design award marks the fourth commendation the DeLight has received for design.

The white vibrator BiMiNi FLASH also makes a statement with its unique floral-inspired design. This sleek, elegant bud form has an extra offshoot, which as a standout style element opens the door for playful experimentation. Never has stylish design been so much fun.

The SMARTBALLS teneo duo is a work of design poured from a single molding. Tension is created by the repeating relief that wraps around both balls. The SMARTBALLS teneo duo were already awarded the design prize “Gute Gestaltung 10” from the German Designer Club (DDC) in the category “product.”

The renowned iF product design award has been handed out since 1953 and is considered to be one of the most important design awards worldwide. This year, nearly 2,500 submissions from 39 countries fought for the coveted design seal of approval. The three winning products from Fun Factory, along with all winning designs, will be exhibited at the iF product design award exhibition in 2010 in Hanover from March to August 2010.
