The Screaming O Lends Supporting Role on FX’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’

LOS ANGELES—The Screaming O’s telltale red-and-white packaged toys played a supporting role on the latest episode of FX’s Sons of Anarchy, a drama following an outlaw motorcycle gang that has recently become the cable network’s highest-rated series, attracting up to 4.9 million viewers each week.

The Screaming O made its FX debut when the show’s leading men entered an adult shop and perused the shelves lackadaisically until one character paused at the main counter, where the sex toy powerhouse’s signature point-of-purchase spinner rack stood tall and stocked with goodies.

The collection of vibrating rings, bullets and cock rings caught his attention long enough to visibly display The Screaming O’s recognizable label as he fingered the selection, showing the world that real men and tough motorcycle gangs alike love to vibrate in the bedroom. Or in this case on the bike, in the motel room … and wherever else spontaneous sex might find them.

This season of “Sons of Anarchy,” its third, attracts millions of viewers—adults 18-49, the exact demographic The Screaming O buzzes for—each week. Its ratings have surpassed the FX network’s other noteworthy hits, including The Shield, Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me. The series has been picked up for a fourth season.
