SPARKS, Nev.—Tantus Inc.—a company long known for its silicone dildos—is ready to get into the vibrator game.
The manufacturer launched an Indiegogo.com crowdfunding campaign for the Rumble, which company founder Metis Black is calling a revolution.
“Like all of our sexual health products, we believe vibrators should be accessible, user-friendly, and should work for any body,” the campaign page reads. “But we couldn’t find a tech savvy vibrator that met our standards.”
Officials said Tantus employees spent the pasts four years brainstorming how to make the perfect vibrator, covering everything from hygienic cleaning and ergonomic hand holds to lightweight feel with heavyweight vibration.
The Rumble is designed to not dictate whose body parts and which body zones deserve to be vibrated.
“We need to stop restricting our reach to specific sexes, genders, and abilities, and start acknowledging the diversity of bodies and sexual desires,” Black said in a video pitch for the campaign. “Vibrators, just like all personal electronics, are gender neutral. Vibration can bring pleasure to any body. Vibrators should be safe and effective for every body.”
The Rumble is a wand-style vibrator that features a removable silicone head and a comfortable ergonomic grip. Easy-to-reach speed controls are near the bottom of the handle, and the Rumble is cordless and rechargeable.
And since the head is removable for easier cleaning, the Rumble can also be customized by replacing the head with any Tantus dildo or suction cup-compatible toy, a Dorado Flicker Head or a Spoon Head, also from Tantus.
Within hours of launching the campaign, Tantus earned pledges of more than $6,000 toward its $50,000. The campaign will run for the next 60 days. For more information, visit TantusInc.com or Indiegogo.com.
