Suspected Sex-Toy Bandit Arrested

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Following up an article AVN Novelty Business posted on Tuesday. A man suspected of breaking into three Springfield stores early Saturday and stealing sex toys and other merchandise has been charged with three counts of second-degree burglary.

 

Daniel Edward Ray, 36, who was charged on Wednesday, allegedly burglarized Victoria's Palace, Cosmic Fish and Adam & Eve by 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He reportedly was recorded by surveillance cameras at all three stores.

 

Ray's ex-girlfriend said she contacted police Tuesday after identifying surveillance photos of Ray on television.

 
Police arrested Ray about 3 p.m. Tuesday at Springfield Iron and Metal, where he works.

 

At Springfield Iron and Metal, police reportedly found a damaged, dark purple Dodge Caravan believed to be the vehicle Ray used to break windows at two of the burglarized businesses.

Ray has previous convictions for drug-related charges and could be ordered to serve the remainder of his sentences, which are in effect until 2013.

 

Ray's ex-girlfriend told police he had "mental issues with sex toys and pornographic material."
