Susan Gould of Club Adventure Dies

Susan Gould, President and CEO of Club Adventure Inc., died Thursday, Jan.10.

Based in Detroit in the late 1970s, Gould and her husband, Ronald, were instrumental in bringing adult home parties into the mainstream throughout the mid-1980s. In 1996, they formed Club Adventure, a couples-only swingers’ club with locations in the Midwest.

Known in the swinging community as "Swing Mom," Gould gave advice to newbies and seasoned couples. Her book and video Happy Swinging is considered a guide for couples venturing into the swinging lifestyle. Gould also is known for her annual four-day Chicago Adventure Convention, which drew thousands.
