LOS ANGELES - Stockroom.com will open the doors of its first retail store at 8:30 p.m. Friday at 2809 1/2 Sunset Blvd. with a gala featuring cocktails, music by DJ Fever and a fetish fashion show.
According to Marketing Director Allain Rochel, the company "couldn't be more thrilled" and "celebration is mandatory!"
"We expect industry pros and civilians alike to stroll through our doors during the grand-opening gala," he told AVN Novelty Business. "It's a momentous occasion for Stockroom, and we are honored to share it with our colleagues and valued clients, both current and prospective."
Owner Joel Tucker will be on hand to welcome customers to the landmark venue. The gala also will serve as welcome of sorts for recently hired President Mike Herman, the former director of business development for AEBN.
"I'm excited to be able to see all of Stockroom, Syren and Stormy Leather's friends and extended family for the first time since coming on board," Herman said. "Big things are coming."
Since opening in 1988, Stockroom.com has made a name for itself through "unparalleled customer service and commitment to quality," Rochel said, adding that opening a retail location was the natural next step.
"It's a natural move for Stockroom to finally open a real-life, walls-and-windows store after so many years of successful Internet sales," he said.
Rochel said the company will "call the store both Syren and Stockroom.com." The store will carry classic Stockroom wares, as well as items from the revamped Syren line, Daedalus Publishing and KinkLab.
Customers at the retail store can expect the same focus on service and quality that Stockroom has shown online, Rochel added.
"Even though the company has grown exponentially over the years, Stockroom has never wavered in its dedication to the individual client," he said. "With the store opening, our local clients will be able to have an even more personal experience, and that means a lot to us. [We've] maintained a strong presence at trade shows and special events, but the opening of the store ushers in a new era of hands-on accessibility and community involvement for this adult-biz superstar."
