Stockroom Hosts Fourth of July Contest

LOS ANGELES - Every year, online BDSM retailer Stockroom.com celebrates freedom by hosting a Fourth of July-themed sale with themes like "Freedom is Overrated" and "Celebrate Independence Day with Restraint."

This year, Stockroom.com is getting its customers involved by hosting a writing contest titled "What Freedom Means to Me." The winner will receive a Stockroom.com original red, white, and blue leather jockstrap, featuring a few stars and one red stripe.

"Essays must be 500 words or less and should express your own take on independence," stated the company's press release about the contest. "Simply send your piece de resistance via email to [email protected] before the sale ends at 11:59 p.m., Friday, July 13."

Stockroom wants to share the essays with its customers and with readers on SandM.com. "From freedom of speech to freedom to assemble to freedom to do whatever mutually consensual thing you want with whomever, whenever, wherever - Stockroom.com wants to share it with the world," according to the company's press release.

"Submissions were received within minutes of sending the announcement," said Geoff Cordner, webmaster for Stockroom.com. "People are obviously interested in expressing themselves. The kink community most definitely wants to be heard."
