LAS VEGAS—The three-day spring International Lingerie Show wrapped today, with several companies launching new products and lingerie collections.
Among the biggest news at the show was the launch of Cocolicious Lingerie from Rene Rofe. Designed by Coco Austin—model, reality TV star and wife of rapper-turned-actor Ice-T—the collection launched with 24 SKUs, including thong panties, teddies, bodysuits and tube dresses.
Coco and Ice-T were on hand the first day of the show to debut the pieces, and Coco emceed a portion of the fashion show where models strutted the runway in her fashions.
“We met Coco when she was here last year for the launch of her toy line with CalExotics,” said Wilson Kello. creative director for Rene Rofe. “We inked the deal within a few months, and she came in to help with the design and creation. Her fans have been clamoring for this, so she made this collection for her fans.”
Coco told AVN that all of the pieces in the collection are modeled after clothing items from her own closet.
“Sometimes I get an item and then ‘Coco-fy’ it,” she said. “I like things that are versatile and sexy at the same time; pieces that you can wear in the bedroom, or in the club, or just out on the town with jeans and heels.”
She said in many cases, stretchy materials were used for comfort and durability, and that the line is designed for women with curvier figures. And in some cases, she said, she was inspired to create pieces from her days as a burlesque performer—she starred as Bo Peep in the Las Vegas production of Peepshow, replacing Holly Madison in the role.
“I would get women who saw the outfits I wore in the show asking me where they can get this, or where they can find that,” she said. “Now I finally have my own line for them!”
Ice-T, who was on hand at ILS to support his wife of 14 years, said he views Cocolicious Lingerie as the perfect item for all types of adult stores.
“Lingerie in a box is an adult toy in and of itself,” he said. “If a woman goes to a store with her man, some men—like me—might see some of those oversized toys and think, ‘Well, I can’t help you, lady.’ But if he sees that lingerie, he knows there’s something in it for him. Coco’s line is affordable and looks good on a lot of women.
“We had a code when she designed something that I really liked and that looked really good,” he continued. “I would be able to look at her and say, ‘That works!’”
“Everything here is Coco and Ice approved,” Coco added.
Also making a splash at ILS was the debut of the Rouge collection of BDSM items in the Nalpac booth. Nalpac is America’s only authorized distributor of the collection, which is billed as the U.K.’s No. 1 leather garment and bondage collection.
“These are well constructed pieces at very reasonable prices,” said Glenn LeBoeuf, director of operations at Nalpac. “There are chest harnesses, floggers, spreader bars, collars and more. We took all black to begin with, but these pieces all come in other colors, too: red, purple, pink, brown.”
Also creating a buzz in the Nalpac booth was Nexus, the British manufacturer that is once again offering its products for men and women in the U.S. Reps were on hand to show off the Nexus Revo Intense, the Nexus Ace, the Nexus Revo Stealth and the Nexus Femme Cadence. The Nexus Revo Intense was adapted for the U.S. market from one of the company’s most popular products. The rechargeable stimulator is splashproof, and boasts six vibrational settings and two shaft rotation speeds. The shaft has a wide range of motion when it rotates, and can be used to either stimulate the prostate in men or the G-spot in women. The Cadence is a dual stimulator for women, and has a bead in the head that moves and massages for G-spot stimulation. It also offers a rotating shaft and an extremely flexible clitoral stimulator.
Nalpac also debuted its new partnership with Leg Avenue.
“We are now the only distributor to carry lingerie and stockings from Leg Avenue,” said Tracy Tinsley, director of business development for Nalpac.
In the Entrenue booth, several manufacturer reps were on hand to meet with buyers and customers about their products and pleasure product collections. Making their debut at the booth were the Nuo and Dua, the newest items from Je Joue. Nuo is a uniquely different anal toy shaped with a gentle curve and bulbous “body” for an pleasant sense of fullness from behind. Nuo’s slender base follows the body’s natural lines and allows the toy to nestle between the buttocks and stay in place with ease. Rotate Nuo with the curve facing upward (in the direction of the belly button) to better access the P-spot or tilt and rock Nuo to explore depths and angles. Dua matches essential clitoral stimulation with pleasantly firm G-spot vibration to bring women a sophisticated alternative to traditional dual-stimulator massagers. Dua’s spherical bulb is ergonomically shaped to press firmly, yet comfortably against the G-spot while its flexible extension makes it easy to position comfortably alongside the clitoris. Dua features two independently controlled vibrating motors, one at each end—turn both on at once to enjoy intense simultaneous sensations, or activate each separately for targeted vibration right where she wants it.
In the East Coast News/IVD booth, Ovo global sales manager Dana D. showcased the Rechargeable Collection of pleasure products, which shipped in February. The manufacturer also debuted new displays for the massagers. The new displays can be used on counter tops or on slat walls, and the individual units are compatible the old display cases. The company is also rebranding its cock rings as couples rings instead of pleasure rings and adding the new tagline “Missing something?”
“We are looking to bring back passion in relationships,” Dana D. said.
Also in the booth was the Rabbit Company. Chaney Cox, brand manager, said that the company makes it easy for retailers and consumers alike.
“When people come in to stores, they don’t ask for a specific brand, they just ask for a ‘rabbit,’” Cox said. “We have for them a clean, modern, sleek and easy-to-understand display filled with user-friendly and high-end toys that will last them a long time.”
The pieces are also designed to let customers graduate from classic to top-of-the-line massagers, Cox added.
In the Eldorado Trading Company booth, sex educator Megan Andelloux was on hand to talk with attendees and customers about her top pleasure product picks, including items from Je Joue, SpareParts, We-Vibe and more.
“Library Girl” Kendra Sunderland also made an appearance at ILS, stopping by the Williams Trading Co. to promote her new line with Pipedream Products. The distributor also debuted the Curve vibrator from Nu Sensuelle. The Nu Sensuelle Curve Vibrator can be used either solo or with a partner. This mid-sized toy has a total length of 13.5 cm, just the right size to reach the sensitive G-spot areas. With a curved tip, it is easy to guide. Coming with a recharging stand, it is convenient to keep alongside the bed, always charged and ready for action.
And among the biggest news at ILS was the release of the Magic Wand Rechargeable from Vibratex. The Magic Wand Rechargeable boasts several features: four power intensities, four vibration patterns and a silicone head. And if by chance you forget to charge it, the Magic Wand Rechargeable is plug-and-play, so it can be used while plugged in.
