LAS VEGAS/HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Sportsheets, a manufacturer known for its BDSM gear, has ventured into the lingerie market with its Slapper Tickler, which premiered at the International Lingerie Show in October.
Marketing Director Todd Carter told AVN Novelty Business that the Slapper Tickler stole the show. During a fashion show at the event, he said, several models wearing couture lingerie were accessorized with the Slapper Tickler as their "feather bling."
"The response to the Slapper Tickler was better than we could have hoped for," he said. "Right after the [fashion] show, I was attacked by buyers, vendors and spectators who couldn't wait to get their hands on as many as I could offer. We had several to hand out, but they went quick."
Carter noted that the Slapper Tickler shouldn't be typecast as only a bracelet, since it can be worn on the ankles or wrists, or as a hair accessory.
He said sales of the Slapper Tickler have been on the rise since its unveiling at ILS, and it has become the flagship item of the recently launched Flirt product line. The line also includes the Dust Your Sweetie lickable body-powder applicator with a jeweled bottle and the Plume de Seduction feather-topped wand wrapped in silky ribbon.
