NEW YORK - Simon Spotlight Entertainment has slated the advice book Cherry Bomb: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Better Flirt, a Tougher Chick, and a Hotter Girlfriend, and to Living Life Like Rock Star for release on August 5.
Entertainment journalist and author Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna culled contributions from a wide range of edgy icons for this title that empowers women "to veer from the pack, work every situation to their advantage, and look cool doing it," according to a press release.
"I'm honored to have all of these great gals, and a few guys, be a part of this book," Borzillo-Vrenna told AVN Novelty Business. "There's a little something for everyone in there, and you don't have to be a rock chick to enjoy it or get something from it. You just need to be a gal who's not afraid to be bold, sexy, and a little different."
Contributors include some of the author's favorite women of rock and women who rock, such as Cherie Currie of the Runaways, Teri Nunn of Berlin, Samantha Maloney of Peaches, fashion designer Anna Sui, burlesque superstar Dita von Teese, and stylist Cynthia Freund. In grand rock 'n' roll tradition, Borzillo-Vrenna suggests a song for every occasion.
Some of the best known women in the adult industry were also enlisted as contributors including Dr. Ava Cadell, Tera Patrick, and Joanna Angel.
Borzillo-Vrenna has written about music and the celebrity world in magazines such as Billboard, Spin, Alternative Press, People, and US Weekly.
Simon Spotlight Entertainment is an imprint of Simon & Schuster, a global leader in general interest publishing. SSE's first book was the best-seller He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.
